Scott Cory, PGA Head Professional

Scott Cory has been a Class “A” PGA Member since 1995. He was raised in Houston where he competed in one of the strongest junior golf programs in the country and was recruited by legendary college coach Dave Williams at the University of Houston. Scott attended college on full golf scholarships.  He was an NCAA Division II All-American at Abilene Christian University where he earned his  degree in Business Management. After college Scott immediately went to work as a golf professional for 1971 Masters Champion Charles Coody at Fairway Oaks Golf Club in Abilene, Texas. He worked 2 PGA Tour events and caddied for the legendary Charlie Sifford at2 Senior PGA Tour events. 

In 1991 Scott accepted a position with Golfsmith International. He was directly involved in the start of the Harvey Penick Golf Academy and taught at the academy from 1993 until 2001. Scott counts his time spent with Harvey Penick as one of the true highlights of his career. Scott moved on from  Golfsmith to be  a Head Golf Professional at Sun City, River Place Country Club and the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club as well as the Director of Instruction at Canyon Springs GC. Scott was the General Manager at Blaketree National Golf Club which is now the Tiger Woods designed Blue Jack National GC. Prior to accepting his roll- this should be ROLE at Avery Ranch GC, Scott was the General Manager of  the home site for the Southern Texas PGA, Cypresswood GC in Spring, TX for 5 years. Scott served as both the Vice President and the President of the Eastern Chapter of the STPGA.  He served as President for 3 1/2 years.

With extensive experience in all areas of golf, Scott's instructional areas of expertise are
Driver and Fairway Woods, Pitching, Chipping and Course Management. 


Ryan Mohr, Assistant Professional

Ryan Mohr was born and raised in Austin, TX before going to school and graduating from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a degree in Environmental Science, Policy and Regulation. Returning home in 2011 he found a position at Avery Ranch G.C. as part of the Guest Services team. Shortly after Ryan moved into the Golf Shop where he has since advanced to First Assistant, and begun to further his education. He is now working towards his PGA Professional, Class A status as an apprentice in the PGM program.

Having worked at Avery Ranch G.C. for 6 years Ryan has done everything from merchandising/inventory to running golf tournaments. However, instruction is where he finds the most enjoyment. Working under former PGA winner and Director of Instruction, J.L. Lewis, PGA has provided Ryan with a great source of knowledge to pull from. He works well with beginners of all ages, but receives great reviews from his junior lessons and clinics. He specializes in teaching the short game and course management.


Franklin Hudson, Assistant Professional

Franklin Hudson attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX and earned a B.S. in Exercise Sports Science. Franklin experience includes being a Senior Instructor and Director Player Camp at the Willowhill Golf Academy in Northbrook, IL., Golf Instructor, private groups, adults and adolescents, Green to Tee Academy, Northbrook, IL, Director of Golf, Skylemar Sports Camp, Naples ME, Custom Club Fitting, Golfsmith International and Golf Instructor & Pro Shop Clerk, Wolfdancer Golf Club, Lost Pines, TX. Franklin Hudson has been teaching people to play golf for 25 years. He has trained golfers of all skill levels. His forte is competitive players both high school and college. He is also a club maker and club fitter. Franklin looks forward to helping you with your game.

Brian Bisgard, Assistant Professional

Brian Bisgard comes to Avery Ranch with nearly a decade of experience in golf. Born and raised in Midland, TX, he began his time in the golf business at both Midland and Odessa Country Club before moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. While earning his English degree from Texas A&M Brian worked as the Assistant Golf Professional for Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan, TX, and then as Head Golf Professional for Phillips Event Center and Golf Course, also in Bryan, TX. He also has experience teaching for the PGA Jr. League, PGA Get Golf Ready, and Texas Team Junior Golf programs. Brian is passionate about junior golf, course competitive play, and the mental side of the game. His degree allows him the ability to communicate his instruction in a variety of ways to more easily facilitate the improvement of his clients.


Todd Leonard, Assistant Professional

Todd was born and raised in Austin and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from St Edward's University in 1995. Todd was a 4 yr starter at 3rd base for the Hilltoppers but finds his passion these days in the golf industry. Todd started in the golf industry in 1997 working in outside services at April Sound Country Club in Conroe, TX and quickly became an assistant golf professional at Wedgewood Golf Club in Conroe, TX. Having missed Austin, he found his way to Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown, TX as the fist assistant golf professional. He gave lessons to all ages and skill levesl as well as teaching Southwestern University's golf class. Todd was pursuing his Class A PGA status before entering the corporate world. He spent 13 years working side by side with his dad at Allstate Insurance and 5 years in the commercial and residential world of real estate. He has returned to his passion of golf and has joined Avery's staff of golf professionals. He brings 25+ years of exceptional customer service and the love of the game to Avery's clients. His degree allows his to understand the mechanics of a swing as well as proper training and exercise. Todd loves working with competitive athletes as well as beginners and hopes to build the game for years to come.
